OpenAI's latest "canvas" interface adds a new dimension to ChatGPT, designed for hands-on writing and coding tasks. This feature pops open a dedicated workspace next to the usual chat window, letting users generate and tweak content without the hassle of re-prompting.

Amazon has a new internal AI bot called Cedric that securely allows employees to get their questions answered and generate document summaries — without ChatGPT. Amazon drew the comparison in a leaked internal document, stating that Cedric is "safer than ChatGPT" and that the tool aims to boost productivity.
Black Forest Labs just released Flux 1.1 Pro, a significantly upgraded version of the startup’s text-to-image AI model, and a new API for developers. Flux 1.1 Pro generates images six times faster than Flux 1 Pro while improving quality and prompt output adherence.
The other features coming with the update include the ability to send and record voice messages on WhatsApp or Messenger without taking out your phone. You can now ask Meta AI to scan QR codes or call phone numbers that you come across, too.
Amazon just announced a new Fire HD 8 tablet, and like many new gadgets in 2024, generative AI-powered tools are among the big new features. But you won’t necessarily need to buy the new Fire HD 8 to try them; Amazon says they’re coming to Fire HD 10 and Fire Max 11 tablets, too.

How to Try the Latest Gemini Models at No Cost
Gemini has recently released advanced models that demonstrate significant improvements in performance, speed, and capacity. Here’s a quick way to try them out:
Visit Google AI Studio and log in with your Google account.
At the top, under "System Instructions," you can enter your custom instructions if desired; otherwise, leave this field empty.
On the right side, select your preferred AI model from the dropdown menu. The latest Gemini models available are:
Gemini 1.5 Pro 002
Gemini 1.5 Flash 002
Gemini 1.5 Flash-8B
Gemini 1.5 Flash 8B Experimental 0924
After selecting a model, enter your text prompt in the box at the bottom. If you wish to attach files, press the "+" icon. Once your prompt is ready, press "Run" to generate your output.
