🤝 Nvidia and Fujitsu strike AI partnership in Japan

Under an expanded collaboration, the companies will co-develop full-stack AI infrastructure and an AI agent platform for sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and robotics. Fujitsu says the stack will integrate FUJITSU-MONAKA CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs via NVLink Fusion. The initiative aims to establish foundational AI infrastructure for Japan by 2030, with scope to expand globally as snnounced in Kawasaki today.

🛰️ Jeff Bezos pitches space-based data centers at Italian Tech Week

Speaking in Turin, Bezos said gigawatt-scale data centers could be built in orbit within 10–20 years, tapping continuous solar power and avoiding weather disruptions. He linked the vision to surging AI/cloud energy demand on Earth. Challenges include launch costs, maintenance, upgrades, and operational risk. Bezos compared AI’s rise to the internet boom, urging caution in separating hype from lasting advances.

💰 AI chip startup Unconventional raises toward $5B valuation

Former Databricks AI chief Naveen Rao is raising $1B for Unconventional, Inc., targeting a $5B valuation. The round is led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Lightspeed, Lux Capital, and Databricks also investing. Rao has already secured “hundreds of millions” and plans to close the rest in tranches. According to TechCrunch, Bloomberg first reported Databricks’ participation earlier this year.
