SpaceX shared on X that it’s struck a deal artificial intelligence startup Cursor, obtaining the right to acquire the company for $60 billion later this year, or to pay $10 billion for work they are doing together. The new image model is rolling out to all users now. Plus and Pro users get a Thinking mode that researches, reasons through layout, and generates up to 8 coherent images in one prompt with full character continuity.
Meta is running a Model Capability Initiative (MCI) to record screenshots, keystrokes, and mouse activity on U.S. employees' work laptops, with no opt-out, to capture real data for AI training, sparking backlash within the organization. MCI's capture scope skews towards developers, logging activity in apps like VSCode, Metamate (Meta's internal AI assistant), Google Chat, and Gmail.
Deep Research Max runs on Gemini 3.1 Pro, supports MCP connections to proprietary data, and generates native charts inline. AI Studio access is also now bundled into Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.
Yelp is giving its AI Assistant chatbot a major upgrade, positioning it at "the center of the app experience" with the ability to answer questions, make recommendations, and handle bookings in a single conversation. The chatbot, which debuted in 2024 as a tool for hiring service professionals, will now span every category on Yelp through a new dedicated "Assistant" tab.
