After two years in stealth, Safe Superintelligence, the AI lab founded by former OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, announced a long-term partnership with Nvidia. The deal, which includes an undisclosed investment, will give Safe Superintelligence (SSI) access to Nvidia’s Vera Rubin GPU platform, which will increase the startup’s compute resources “by an order of magnitude.”
Dario Amodei set a bioweapon fear at the center of Anthropic's answer on open AI models. The post calls open models without dangerous capabilities a public good, since they cost nothing beyond the compute to run them. Amodei names two fears, authoritarian states building more powerful models than the US, and models capable enough to run cyberattacks or weaponize a pandemic-level virus.
Moonshot AI just officially released the weights and tech report behind its powerful Kimi K3, letting anyone (with serious GPUs) download and run the 2.8T-parameter model, the largest ever put out with open weights. K3 was released earlier this month, making waves after competing with both Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6-Sol across a variety of benchmarks.
Apple’s being sued in Northern California for alleged negligence regarding its App Store security measures. In the lawsuit, three plaintiffs claim they were tricked into downloading and installing a fraudulent crypto wallet app called Sparrow Wallet, leading them to collectively lose more than $1.8 million
