White House science and tech chief Michael Kratsios accused China’s Moonshot AI of using distillation to train its Kimi K3 AI, saying it siphoned from Anthropic’s Fable 5 — coming just as Moonshot gears up to open source K3’s weights. The U.S. government named the first 278 projects in its $5B+ Genesis Mission, a Manhattan Project-like AI science push aimed at pairing scientists with compute, data, and models to tackle “the most challenging problems of the century.” Genesis drew 5,000-plus proposals for a program the Department of Energy says is built to make U.S. science twice as productive.

Travis Kalanick's robotics company, Atoms, has raised $1.7 billion in a funding round joined by Uber, reconnecting Kalanick back with the company he founded. Atoms is a rebranded holding company created from a ghost kitchen project Kalanick has been working on since he resigned from Uber.
OpenAI is coming for Effingham County, Georgia. The AI leader is building a data center campus, named Project Camellia, within the Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub, about 45 minutes outside of Savannah. OpenAI is committing $20 billion to the project in order to qualify for a local incentive package, which would be the first data center its designing and building itself.

How to let Claude record your screen and upload as a skill
You don’t need to build a Claude skill from scratch. Just record your screen while doing the task, and Claude can turn it into a reusable skill. Here is how:
Download or update the Claude desktop app for Mac.
Open Cowork inside the Claude app.
Click the + button near the message box.
Select Record a skill.
Allow Claude to access your screen, mouse, keyboard, and microphone.
Click Start recording.
Complete the task as you normally would. Speak while you work so Claude understands why you are taking each step.
Click Done when you finish.
Claude will study the recording and create a suggested skill.
Read the instructions Claude created, then click Save. You can also edit or reject the skill before saving it.
A recording session can take up to 10 minutes
