Nvidia has become the first publicly traded company to reach a $5 trillion market valuation, driven by surging demand for its AI chips and investor confidence in the continued growth of artificial intelligence. The Santa Clara company's stock has surged 51% this year as businesses scramble for its graphics processing units, which Wedbush analyst Dan Ives calls precious for the tech ecosystem.

OpenAI has released gpt-oss-safeguard, a pair of open-weight reasoning models for safety classification tasks, available in 120B and 20B parameter sizes under the Apache 2.0 license. The models are built to interpret and reason through developer-provided policies, producing explainable classifications for text, completions, or full chats.
Extropic just introduced thermodynamic sampling units (TSU), a new chip architecture that handles probability calculations instead of traditional processing, claiming the hardware can run AI models using 10,000x less energy than current GPUs.
Cursor just released Composer, the company’s first proprietary coding model that nears frontier capabilities with SOTA speed — alongside an overhauled 2.0 platform designed to run multiple AI agents simultaneously. Composer achieves top-level intelligence while generating code roughly 4x faster than rival systems, completing most tasks in under 30 seconds.
Character AI announced it will prohibit anyone under 18 from having open-ended conversations with its AI chatbots starting in late November, coming after legal pressure from lawmakers and families who say the platform led to teen deaths. Character AI will wrap up chatbot access for minors on Nov. 25, though teens can still use the platform to generate videos and images through creative tools.

How to get ChatGPT to stop agreeing with everything you say
Go to ChatGPT and sign in.
Click on your profile icon, select Settings, then Personalization.
Enable Customization if it isn’t already.
Add the following under Custom Instructions:
“You are an expert who double-checks things, you are skeptical, and you do research. I am not always right. Neither are you, but we both strive for accuracy.”
Save your changes, then start a new chat.
ChatGPT will now be more likely to disagree when appropriate, question your ideas, and admit when it doesn’t know something.
