OpenAI just completed its controversial transition to a public benefit corporation, while also simultaneously renegotiating its Microsoft arrangement to address tensions surrounding AGI rights and ownership stakes. The original nonprofit, rebranded as OpenAI Foundation, now holds $130B of equity and will direct $25B to health research and “AI resilience infrastructure.”

Adobe introduced a wave of AI updates across its platforms at the its MAX conference, including conversational assistants, a new Firefly Image Model with upgraded features, broader access to third-party models, new video tools, and more. AI assistants come to Photoshop and Express for image creation and editing, with Adobe also previewing an agentic assistant called “Project Moonlight.”
GitHub is giving developers access to third-party AI coding agents with the launch of a new “Agent HQ.” Instead of just using GitHub Copilot, developers will get to try OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Jules, xAI, and Cognition’s Devin within GitHub in the coming months.
PayPal has become the first payments platform to embed its digital wallet directly into ChatGPT, allowing users to complete purchases without leaving the chat interface. The move connects PayPal’s 400M+ users with ChatGPT’s global audience, creating a shared marketplace where shoppers can pay using their PayPal balance or cards, all with built-in buyer and seller protections.

How to transcribe audio for free with Google Gemini
Transcribing audio into text has become much easier thanks to AI tools, Google Gemini now offers a free option for files up to 10 minutes long.
Here’s how:
Make sure you are using the latest version of Google Gemini or visit the Google Gemini website.
Select the "+" button and choose "Upload files" in the browser or "Files" in the app version.
Browse your device and select the audio file you want to transcribe. Gemini supports MP3, AAC, and WAV formats. Once selected, the file will load into Gemini.
Enter a prompt such as "transcribe this speech" and let Gemini start working. If you receive an error, try entering "try again" and it should process the file successfully.
Once the transcription is ready, you’ll notice it may include filler words like "uhms" and "ahs". To clean it up, prompt Gemini with phrases like "can you clean it up?" or "remove the ums," and it will provide a polished version of the transcript.
