Anthropic has signed a term sheet for a $10B funding round at a $350B valuation, with Coatue and Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC leading the financing. Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI research executives, Anthropic has attracted billions from Amazon, Microsoft (up to $5B), and Nvidia (up to $10B), and recently released three Claude models: Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.5.
Google Classroom has launched a Gemini-powered feature that converts lesson plans into podcast-style audio episodes, allowing teachers to generate conversational learning content for students who prefer audio formats. Teachers can customize grade level, topics, and learning objectives, then choose the number of speakers and conversational styles—including interviews, roundtable discussions, or casual dialogues.
Lenovo just announced Qira at CES 2026, a system-level AI assistant designed to follow users between its PCs and Motorola phones for “Personal Ambient Intelligence” with context across devices. Qira’s system combines Microsoft and OAI cloud models, Stability AI for image generation, and integrations for Notion and Perplexity.
Waymo is preparing to update its lineup with a new van built by Chinese automaker Zeekr and a modified Hyundai Ioniq 5s. The vehicles will be added to Waymo's growing operations this year, but the company has yet to specify which cities will see them. The Zeekr vehicle will be called the Waymo Ojai in the US.
