OpenAI has announced GPT-5 in three variants: GPT-5 Pro, GPT-5 mini, and GPT-5 nano. Some of the models will be available across all ChatGPT, including for free users. OpenAI claims the new model family comes with reduced confabulations, improved coding capabilities, and a new approach to handling sensitive requests. Free users now have access to a simulated reasoning AI model. GPT-5 Pro is replacing o3-pro in ChatGPT for those subscriber tiers with access to it.

Google DeepMind just open-sourced an upgraded version of Perch, an AI model that helps scientists analyze massive amounts of wildlife audio, making it easier to track endangered species in diverse environments. Perch can now handle a wider range of species and environments, from forests to coral reefs, using twice the training data of the version released in 2023.

With Gemini’s new “Storybook” feature, you can generate 10-page stories, each with a short paragraph of text that Gemini can read aloud, along with an illustration.
Here’s how:
Go to http://gemini.google
In the prompt bar, ask Gemini to make a storybook about any topic.
For example: “Create a storybook that explains the solar system to my 5-year-old.”
You can also customize your story by asking Gemini to use specific art styles, such as ones inspired by claymation, anime, comics, and more.
Optionally, you can upload your own photos or other images for Gemini to reference.
