OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the company aims to build an AI ā€œresearch internā€ by 2026 and a fully autonomous ā€œAI researcherā€ by 2028. Joined by Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki, Altman described a system that can plan, run experiments, and make discoveries on its own. To get there, OpenAI is improving algorithms, scaling compute, and extending model reasoning time.

It has been quite the week (nay, month!) for AWS. Closing out October with strong cloud results sent Amazon shares up nearly 12% after the company reported ~20% year-over-year AWS growth in Q3. AI workloads and long-term enterprise deals helped lift revenue to about $33 billion, easing concerns about slowing demand. Retail and ad sales also grew, giving Amazon one of its best quarters since 2022.

Apple CEO Tim Cook signaled to investors the company is still open to acquisitions and partnerships to move things forward on the AI front. The comments were made this week during the company’s Q4 2025 earnings call. The exec also offered a brief update about Apple’s next-generation, AI-powered Siri, saying the service was still on track to launch in 2026.

Big Tech plans to spend over $400 billion on AI this year and says it’s still not enough. Microsoft will double its data center capacity within two years as demand surges, while Amazon races to add cloud infrastructure. Meta says it’s hitting limits training new models and will sharply increase spending again in 2026. Google is raising annual capital spending to around $93 billion, citing strong AI returns.

The Sora 2 app—a TikTok-style video generator—is now the No. 1 free app on Apple’s App Store, just behind ChatGPT. Recently, OpenAI also launched ā€œcharacter cameosā€ that let users add pets or objects to videos. OpenAI announced that users can now buy additional Sora video generations beyond the current 30 free videos per day.

Sample Prompt: Turn the article below into a single-page, info-dense infographic for LinkedIn (1080Ɨ1350). Use my brand palette [#HEX1, #HEX2, #HEX3]. Create a clear hierarchy (H1 title, 3–5 section headers, concise bullets), simple icons, and a clean grid. Highlight key stats as callouts, include a minimal footer CTA [enter CTA], and keep body text ≤ 14 words per bullet. Here’s the article: [paste text]

  • Wait a few seconds for the first draft

  • Refine with short prompts (e.g., ā€˜tighten bullets,’ ā€˜bigger stat callouts) or tweak in the code editor

  • Click ā€˜Publish’, copy the public URL

  • Open the HTML to Design plugin, paste the URL, and import back into Figma

  • Edit layout, colors, and icons as needed and export as PDF
