OpenAI just introduced a “Lockdown Mode” in ChatGPT, alongside new Elevated Risk labels, as part of an effort to protect “highly security-conscious users” from threats like prompt injection (where AI is tricked into leaking data). The Lockdown Mode is an optional setting that deterministically disables certain ChatGPT tools and capabilities that an attacker could exploit.

Alibaba’s Qwen released Qwen3.5-397B-A17B, an open-weight vision language model featuring a “hybrid architecture” that delivers massive inference gains while rivaling proprietary giants like OpenAI’s GPT-5.2 and Google’s Gemini 3 Pro. Qwen-3.5 uses a sparse MoE design, activating only 17B parameters out of 397B for each query, balancing high-level capabilities with low latency.
Indian IT giant Infosys has today announced a strategic collaboration with AI firm Anthropic to build and deliver advanced enterprise AI solutions to enterprises across industries including telecom, financial services, manufacturing and software development. The partnership will start with the telecom segment, with a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence being launched to build and deploy specialised AI agents.
ChatGPT and Gemini rival, Sarvam AI has introduced a new on-device AI model called Sarvam Edge which designed to run directly on smartphones and laptops without needing an internet connection. The company says the model focuses on speed, privacy and reliability, while also supporting major Indian languages.
SpaceX and its wholly owned subsidiary, xAI, are competing in a secretive new Pentagon contract to produce voice-controlled autonomous drone swarming technology. While Elon Musk has been enthusiastic about advancing AI, he has previously argued for a ban on autonomous weapons that can select and engage their own targets and operate beyond meaningful human control.

How to run LLMs locally with LM Studio
Download LM Studio for your OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
In LM Studio, go to the search tab and search for models by name or author (e.g., Llama, Google Gemma, Qwen, Mistral, GLM, etc.). You can even filter based on whether the model fits within the available memory on your current device.
Once you find the one you're looking for, download it.
Open the Chat tab and load the model from the top bar.
Once the model is loaded, you can start a back-and-forth conversation with the model in the Chat tab.
