Developer Maor Shlomo just sold his vibe coding startup, Base44, to Wix for $80M in cash, after bootstrapping it to 250k users and making monthly profits of $189,000 in just six months. Shlomo said Base44 grew to 10k users within three weeks via word-of-mouth, enabling non-programmers to build apps with natural language prompts.
Mark Zuckerberg's AI hiring spree has now turned to Daniel Gross, the CEO of Ilya Sutskever's startup Safe Superintelligence, and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman. Meta tried to acquire Safe Superintelligence earlier this year, but its efforts were rebuffed.
Softbank CEO, Masayoshi Son, is planning to partner with Taiwanese AI chip maker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), and the Trump administration to build a $1T industrial AI complex in Arizona. Called “Project Crystal Land,” Son’s plans include building a manufacturing hub and AI complex that will rival China’s colossal AI manufacturing hub, Shenzhen, and bring high-end tech manufacturing to the US.
X users will soon be able to make investments and trades on the social media platform. The company is also exploring the introduction of an X credit or debit card. Elon Musk aims to change X into an 'everything app' - a one-stop shop for messaging, payments, and shopping.
